I call myself the Bittersweet Chef mainly because cooking for me is bittersweet. I am one of those non-cooks that gets incredibly frustrated and irritated when I am in the kitchen. Glycemic Index




My family has a long history of diabetes. I have a "pre-diabetic" condition that still makes my blood sugar crash through out the day. I am going to try and follow a low glycemic diet. The list above shows foods with a number. A LOW index is under 55. A MEDIUM index is between 56-69 and a HIGH index is 70+. Think of a green, yellow and red light. I green is anything under 55, a yellow (meaning you should use caution when eating these foods) are in the medium and the red light would represent the high index foods (ones you should try to avoid).
I will share any great recipes I find and track my weight loss progress and energy levels.
